Rawlings was a Marine Corps infantry and Reconnaissance Officer with over 23-years of active duty service and a veteran of combat with over ten tours to Afghanistan (OEF), Iraq (OIF), Saudi Arabia, and Northern Africa (OEF,) to name a few. He is an Infantry and LAV Reconnaissance Officer by trade. A former company commander, FAST det. Commander, and an infantry battalion commander of the 3d Battalion, 5th Marines, Rawlings’s service to the Nation spanned more than twenty-two years of active duty. His last assignment was in Quantico Marine Base as the Warfighting Department Head for Marine Corps Command & Staff College. In his spare time, Lt. Col. Rawlings is an avid scuba diver, hunter, motorcyclist, rock drummer, small-craft sailor, and microbrewer of fine beer.
John Gilstrap is the New York Times bestselling author of nineteen novels, including the acclaimed Jonathan Grave thrillers. Against All Enemies won the International Thriller Writers’ Award for Best Paperback of 2015. His books have been translated into more than twenty languages worldwide. An expert in explosives safety and a former firefighter, he holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. He lives in Fairfax, Virginia.
