Young Writers Groups
Award Winning Author, Illustrator and Publisher Sallie Lowenstein manages the Young Writers Groups at One More Page Books. There are 2 groups: One for 9-12 year olds that meets Thursdays from 4-5:30. The other group is for 13-18 year olds
and meets Thursdays from 5:30-7 pm.
These
groups are designed to foster a love of writing, story and creativity. There
are no assignments or homework. Each child brings in whatever they wish
the other members of the group to read and discus and are for
imaginative kids who love to write. Writing games are played and
special visits from other authors sometimes occur.
The next session begins
February 16 and runs until the 2nd week in May. At that time Sallie publishes an
anthology of the kids work, holds a huge pot luck dinner for all the kids,
their parents and family, and the kids go on a radio show where they read their
work and are interviewed. Many kids come back year in and year out, and
for most it is a wonderful experience that changes how they read and look
at literature, as well as how they write.
