Red Wines

Allegrini Palazzo della Torre 2007 (Italy)
** Top sellers
90 Points - The Wine Advocate. "Enticing scents of chocolate, espresso, dark fruit, licorice...enough balance and elegance in the finish to suggest this will drink well for a number of years. Made from 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Sangiovese, all traditional Veneto grapes. Approximately 30% of the fruit is air-dried, Amarone-style. The fermenting juice from those grapes is added to the rest of the juice to give the wine an extra dimension of richness and body. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017."

Alma de Los Andes Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
“Bright and deep purple black cherry color. On the nose touches of earthiness and forest floor. Good body, minerality and earth evolve to a rich dry fruit with excellent balance, acidity and tannins in the mid-palate. A pleasant and complex finish.”

Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
"A super-ripe style of Malbec blended with Cabernet. As midnight, with a lush bouquet and palate that ooze bulky black fruit aromas and flavors. It’s compact, dense and sweet as sin, with black fruit marmalade and chocolate running the flavor profile. Finishes syrupy and with café mocha flavors."

Anton Bauer Pinot Noir (Austria)
"A precise balance between the fruit and acidity makes this wine fresh and lively. Typical Pinot Noir nose with strawberries, raspberries and floral notes such as violets. Well balanced and elegant on the palate with a long finish tasting of red berries. sustainable farmed vineyards."

Argiolas Costera 2008 (Sardinia)
“Warm and full bodied on the palate with excellent texture, ripe fruit flavors and pleasant tannins.  An excellent food wine that is best enjoyed with roast beef, filet mignon, stews and sharp cheeses.  The full bouquet of sweet black cherry, pepper and licorice is typical of the Cannonau grape.”

Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico 2006 (Italy)
90 Points – The Wine Advocate. “100% Sangiovese. Truly beautiful as it opens up in the glass, revealing tons of fruit in the powerful, ripe style that is typical of Castelnuovo.  Possesses tons of stuffing and richness yet maintains notable clarity.   A superb value.”

Fingerprints Bonarda 2009 (Argentina)
“Deep red in color with violet hints. Its aroma shows small ripe red berries with delicate notes of vanilla. Good volume, with intense fruit and vanilla flavors. Long, lingering aftertaste with rounded and sweet tannins.”

La Bruja Malbec 2009 (Argentina)
Deep purple color. Nose: Minerals, crushed cherry.  Palate: Big black fruit, nice balance, soft tannin with a medium finish.

Lobetia Syrah 2010 (Spain)
"Organic and naturally grown and made, this wine allows the varietal and the terroir to stand out cleanly. Shows a nice red colour with violet tones. Raspberry and violet aromas on the nose. On the palate it is complex and harmonious, with a long finish in the mouth."

Marietta Angeli Cuvee 2006 (California) -A favorite – “The Taker” wine
“Proprietary blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane. Increased quantities of Petite Sirah boost the density and keep the aromas and flavors tightly wound on the 2006 release. Below the surface, the potential is evident which will evolve to show layers of blackberry, dark chocolate and rich spice. Flirts with the edges of ripeness and full bodied flavors yielding a bursting mouthful of rich, ripe blackberries with a dollop of toasty oak while retaining great structure and balance.”

Old Vine Red Lot Number 54 (California) - One of our new favorites
G
reat for just hanging out with friends. “Bright aromatics are pure expressions of red and black berries with nice peppery spice, earth, and mild oak in the background. The mouthfeel is rich and concentrated with great weight and structure.”

Raymond Napa Reserve Merlot 2006 (California)

Tamas Double Decker Red 2008 (California)

Exciting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Barbera to create an adventurously robust yet smooth red wine with mouth-filling flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum, and a smooth, spicy finish. Hop on the bus for a multinational wine tour experience and stamp your passport for world taste.

Valle Realle Vigne Nuove Montepulciano d'Abbruzzo
“Many strains of Trebbiano exist, but Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, considered one of the best, is not Trebbiano at all, but Bombino Bianco! -“Little white bomb.” Cold maceration in stainless steel preserves the lively freshness of the young vines’ fruit. An initial aroma of melon introduces the fragrance of white wild flowers and flavors of lemon and orange zest. Clean, crisp, and refreshing, with good underlying acidity.”

Zinsational Old Vine Zinfindel 2008 (California) ** Top sellers
94 Points – Gold Medal – 2008 Vintage - California State Fair Wine Competition 2011.  "Full–bore spicy style of  California Zinfandel that expodes with flavors of black raspberry and blackberries with hints of vanilla and black pepper on the finish."
